PIPSO in collaboration with ILO conducted a Webinar on “A Private Sector Perspective - Covid-19 and Wages” on 21 May 2020 14:00hrs Fiji time (07:00hrs Male’ time).

The Webinar focused on Looking at wages and how this has been impacted by the pandemic - noting the broad implications to Governments, Businesses and Workers. Hearing from 5 speakers covering the macroeconomic role wages play in recovery, to productivity’s relationship to wages and living standards; and how are businesses responding and what are some policy plans/ideas for recovery.

Mr. Janah represented Maldives as the National Federation of Maldivian Employers’ President and spoke on the current Covid-19 situation of Maldives and the affect on all industries’ employees and wages.
